Join Rooted 303’s Recovery Coaching Team! Rooted 303 helps individuals in recovery reclaim their lives! We offer multiple programs to support those in recovery and we strive to be a community that accepts everyone no matter what stage in life they are in. We want to ensure that no matter what challenges someone in recovery is facing, we will stand by them.

We are currently seeking a Peer Recovery Coach that has lived experience with substance misuse. The Peer Recovery Coach will provide assistance, support, and advocacy for clients and help them overcome any obstacles to achieving their goals. A successful candidate will take a holistic approach to recovery, understanding that mental and social factors are all important to consider in Recovery. The Peer Recovery Coach will promote personal growth, development, and recovery using their lived experience.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should have reliable transportation as this role will provide support groups to a few locations in the Denver area.

  • Provides individual or group peer support, drawing on common experiences as a peer, to validate the clients experiences and to offer guidance by asking open-ended questions to ensure that the client finds their own solution that they are comfortable and confident in implementing in their life

  • Provides accountability to clients and encourages them to take responsibility for their actions and to actively participate in their own recovery.

  • Maintains a work environment that is marked by respect for others; that values inclusiveness, cooperation, honesty and teamwork.

  • Appropriately responds to crises as they arise in a trauma-informed manner.

  • Openly listens and responds to client’s feedback about services.

  • Provides information and assists client’s in skill-building activities, goal setting, and problem-solving.

  • Facilitates connections to a variety of substance misuse programs and to mental health resources in the community that are in alignment with the client’s personal wants, goals, and beliefs.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior or current recipient of mental health, substance and/or homeless services, with the ability to role model recovery, and who is actively participating in their own recovery. One year or more in recovery is preferred.

  • One year or more of volunteer and/or paid experience is preferred.

  • Ability to use the following programs: Google Docs, Office Products and Web based programs

  • Seeking recovery coaching certification via CCAR or NADAC and continually pursuing education on most effective and ethical Recovery Coaching practices
